Course Overview

What is this course

The ProQual Level 5 Diploma in Law is a UK-accredited, competence-based qualification regulated by Ofqual. It is designed to provide learners with a strong understanding of the English legal system and key areas of substantive law, supporting those aiming to build a career in the legal sector or progress towards higher legal studies.

This qualification develops core legal knowledge across contract law, criminal law, tort law, land law, equity and trusts, public law, human rights law, and aspects of EU law. It also strengthens practical legal skills such as case analysis, statutory interpretation, legal research, drafting, and problem-solving, all of which are essential in real legal practice.

The course aligns with important UK legal frameworks, including the Human Rights Act 1998, which protects fundamental rights, and the Equality Act 2010, which ensures fairness and non-discrimination in legal services. It also reflects professional standards guided by the Legal Services Act 2007, which governs legal practice and professional conduct. Widely respected in the UK, this qualification supports progression toward SQE, CILEX pathways, or LLB top-up degrees and is valued by law firms, legal departments, and professional bodies.
