What is this course
The ProQual Level 2 Award for Fire Marshals is an Ofqual-regulated, UK-accredited qualification designed for employees appointed as fire marshals or fire wardens within their workplace. This foundational award provides essential training in fire safety responsibilities, emergency procedures, and practical fire response actions required to protect life and property in the event of a fire.
Learners gain practical knowledge of fire legislation, fire risk awareness, fire prevention measures, and the role and duties of a fire marshal. The course covers key UK legal frameworks including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which requires the Responsible Person to appoint competent fire marshals and provide adequate training, and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 for general workplace safety duties.
Training includes fire science basics, fire classification, common fire causes, fire extinguisher types and selection, emergency evacuation procedures, roll call and accounting for personnel, liaison with fire and rescue services, and fire marshal inspection routines.
