Course Overview

What is this course

The ProQual Level 6 Diploma in Civil Engineering is a UK-accredited, competence-based qualification regulated by Ofqual. It is designed for civil engineers, design engineers, and technical managers who want to strengthen their professional knowledge and progress into more senior roles within the UK construction and infrastructure sector.

This qualification develops advanced technical competence in structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, transportation systems, construction materials, environmental engineering, and project management. Learners also gain practical ability to plan, design, and manage civil engineering projects such as buildings, highways, bridges, drainage systems, and flood protection works.

The course is aligned with key UK industry expectations and legal frameworks, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring safe design and construction practices. It also reflects important environmental responsibilities under the Environment Act 1995 and the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

Widely recognised across the UK, this qualification aligns with Eurocodes, DMRB, and ICE standards, supporting progression towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree with honours.
