Course Overview

What is this course

In today’s childcare, education, healthcare, and family settings, the ability to respond promptly and appropriately to paediatric emergencies is essential. Situations such as choking, injury, sudden illness, or unresponsiveness in infants and children can occur without warning and require immediate, age-appropriate intervention to prevent serious harm or loss of life.

The Certified Paediatric Emergency First Aid Training Course is a foundational qualification designed to equip learners with essential knowledge, safety awareness, and practical competence in paediatric emergency first aid. This course offers a structured learning pathway for individuals entering paediatric care roles, as well as for those seeking to enhance or formally recognise existing experience through a professionally accredited certification.

The training places strong emphasis on safe and effective emergency response, the correct application of paediatric first aid techniques, and a clear understanding of common child-specific emergency situations. Learners also develop competence in primary and secondary casualty assessment, while gaining awareness of relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities when providing care to infants and children.
